www.HowManySyllables.com may collect personal information directly from children. If the child chooses to submit a word to our dictionary and chooses to receive thanks for their submission, we give the child the option to enter his or her email address, and nick name. Submission of personal information is completely optional and only necessary if the child wants to receive thanks in the “Thank You” section.
If the child chooses to submit his or her personal information, the moderator (below) may create a webpage listing the word that the child submitted, along the number of syllables the word has, followed by a “Thank You” to the child. This thank you will list the child’s nick name (if submitted). No other personal information will be listed anywhere on the website.
Once this page has been created, the moderator will send an email to the child letting them know that a page has been created for the word that they submitted and giving them the option to change their name as it is appears in the “Thank You” section. After which, the moderator will delete all of the personal information which was submitted.
No personal information will be shared with any third parties at any time.
PARENTS:
A parent or legal guardian may review all personal information submitted by a child, ask to have it deleted, and/or and refuse to allow any further collection or use of the child's information.
